Our aim at Clifton Eventers is to produce quality New Zealand eventers, ranging from really starry Olympic calibre horses to easy-to-ride schoolmasters/packers. We buy the best youngsters we can find, plus a few older, more established horses with proven track records with amateur riders. In addition to being sound, sane and viceless, they must also have good conformation and movement, a balanced gallop and, above all, a great jump technique. No short cuts are taken. The basics are done thoroughly and correctly.
Over the past 12 year in excess of 100 'Clifton' eventers have been sold to the USA, Australia, Europe and the UK to compete, from Training to four-star.
Outlined below are our top horses, one or two of which may occasionally be for sale. Please follow the links for more information, which includes photographs and almost always several videos.
Our selection ability for true top-class horses has been extremely successful at producing the results.
Also, we don't just say they are great, we put our money where our mouth is and buy them to then produce to sell or to take a New Zealand rider to the World Games or Olympics. We can't think of any better 'vote of confidence' in our recommendation of these Clifton eventers.
